The Bessie Holloway papers consist of personal papers, documents from the Samuel Chase Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, genealogical research files on the Holloway family (and relatives), and name indices. It is primarily comprised of handwritten notes and reproductions of documents related to Holloway family members, which were likely maintained to support her 1985 book, Holloways of the Eastern Shore and descendants near & far, 1066-1985 : including Adkins, Davis, Dennis, Godfrey, Hudson, Jones, Kenney, Long, Massey, Mumford, Parker, Parsons, Perdue, Shockley, Thompson, Wright, and others.

Diary of Sara Bindley

The Diary of Sara Bindley documents the life and travels of Sara Slocum Bindley with her children and grandchildren from 1898 to 1919. The first few pages, from 1898 to 1899 record the childhood of Sara's children while they lived in New York. The rest of the diary dates from 1916 to 1919 and describes the travels of Sara with her granddaughter Sarah Virginia Sandell as they travel to Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Washington, D.C., and upstate New York during World War I. Some of their adventures include hospitalizations due to accidents and Sarah Virginia's participation in a Red Cross Play. Pasted into the diary are photographs, postcards, and other ephemera. Also included with the diary is a 1938 document acknowledging Sarah Virginia's receipt of $300 from the will of John Bindley.

Records of the German Club and German Study Abroad Programs

The Records of the German Club and German Study Abroad Programs collection documents the history of the German Club at Salisbury University and two study abroad programs offered by the Modern Languages Department between 1980 and 2015. Included in the collection are flyers, photographs, scrapbooks, video recordings, press releases, administrative forms, notes and correspondence among other materials created by Salisbury University (previously Salisbury State College and Salisbury State University) students and the advisor of German Club, Klaudia Thompson. Two events, Oktoberfest and Immersion Weekend, are the main focus of the German Club records. In addition, there are programs, posters, itineraries, travel guides and brochures, advertisements for the program, and postcards from abroad that document a winter study abroad program and a summer study abroad program. There are additional materials related to the Modern Languages Department itself, mostly regarding German courses and events, that include correspondence and publications by or about the Department. Lastly, there is a large collection of photographs and scrapbooks documenting events held by the German Club and the study abroad trips.
